The Prodigal Girl Returns (?) – Update

It’s starting to alarm me that this is maybe my third or fourth “I’m coming back to the blog” post…especially since I’ve been absent for about a year or two now?

What can I say, college get’s in the way of hobbies sometimes. And that is what this blog is: a hobby.

I’m going to cut the crap, I have no idea if I will be able to stick to a blogging schedule this time…which I why I might not try to? I’m not sure yet. I’m not sure if I can devote time to this as if I’m a professional, or even a wannabe professional.

What I do know is that I miss writing my thoughts about the books I’m reading. I miss talking about bookish things (there’s only so much my friends can handle).

So I’m back? Who knows how often and for how long…

Honey, I’m Home – Life Update

Hey everyone! I’m back home from my first quarter of college and I’m happy and sad and lonely and confused and proud and exhausted.

I’ve had so much growth over the past three months and I hope that will improve my blogging skills.

I’m going to try to get back onto a somewhat consistent posting schedule soon! Even if it means that I have to cut back and post less often. My main focus is to post quality bookish things on a regular basis.

Wish me luck – I’m gonna need it.

Oops I Did It Again – Quickie Life Update

Hey, remember how I made a post a month ago saying that I was going to do my best to keep up with this blog even though I’m currently working my butt off at college?

Remember that?

This marks the second time I’ve let this blog fall behind. It sucks and I’m sorry.

I could write down a hundred reasons why i’ve been M.I.A but it’s unnecessary. I’m in college, life is challenging and I’m trying to do my best.

I appreciate everyone who has ever liked, read or commented on any of my posts. Seriously, you guys rock. I wish I could be the perfect blogger, and I wish I could talk to all of you about books all the time but, like I said, life is challenging.

I didn’t get enough sleep last night so we’re just going to pretend that this post isn’t a hot mess. Sound good? Great.

Life Update – I’m Starting College!!!

Well, actually I’m typing this ahead of time because I know that I will be overwhelmed but as you are reading this I’m currently either moving in my dorm or at orientation!

I just wanted to let you know that I’m starting my freshman year of art school this month so my posts will probably be less frequent and less consistent. I’m not dead, I’m not abandoning my blog, I’m just working my butt off at school and passing out from exhaustion.

I’m doing my best to create a stock pile of posts so that I can hopefully put out content but I’m only human. So if you guys can just stick with me even thought I’m not going to be popping up on your feeds all the time, that would mean a lot to me!

Alright, that’s all! I’d love to hear about your life updates for those of you heading back to school/university. Also any time management advice is greatly appreciated.

Quick Update: Dedicating this Space to Book Blogging

Hey everyone just a quick update for all of you!

After a lot of thinking, I’ve decided that at this point in my life, I can’t manage an “everything” kind of blog. To prove my point I haven’t even made any fashion, make-up or life posts yet… and I’ve had this blog for eight months. Yeah.

So, Curtsy to The Queen will be a book blog for now. I would like to expand in the future (either on here or with another blog) but I’m about to start college in September and I know that I won’t be able to make content worthy of posting if I don’t narrow in on a topic.

I’ve always loved reading and writing and I’d love to share all my bookish thoughts with the world. It seems appropriate anyway since all I’ve been posting thus far is book posts. I hope everyone understands.

Eight months and not so much as a hello…

Here’s the thing…I was just about to make a blog post about a book I just finished (P.S I Still Love You by Jenny Han) when I realized I hadn’t posted in eight months. EIGHT months. Yeah.

So let me say what everyone is thinking: I suck. School took over my life and life took over my life and this just got shoved to the side. I apologize and will do my best to create a regular schedule. I just graduated high school and I have a couple of months left before I go off to college so my plan is to create a posting schedule and dish out some content.

Alright, that’s all for now folks! Wish me luck.

The Inaugural Post

Let’s start out with some truths:

1) I am so totally new to this.

This is not my first blog. I really don’t want to go through a history of past blogs because they are so cringe-worthy. I’m no expert at blogging and will probably make a few lot of mistakes. It’s going to take a while to build a blog worth reading but it will get better. I will get better

2) My name is Celine, I am not a Queen.

Titles are big. The make you or break you kind of big, so I really didn’t want to mess up mine. I will state the obvious; Celine and Queen rhyme. It’s cute, it’s unique, it’s mine. Therefore, this blog will known as Curtsy To The Queen.

3) There are two spellings.

Curtsy can be spelled with an E (curtsey) or without (curtsy). I chose without. Let me know what you think about that

4) This blog is under construction.

There will be changes happening as I become more familiar with WordPress. Don’t get too used to the way things look.

5) Beauty, Fashion and Life

It’s kind of hard to describe what I want this blog to focus on but I think the three topics above are generally going to be the theme. I’ve loved fashion ever since I could remember and wanted to be a fashion designer for a time (like every other typical girl on the planet). However the beauty thing is relatively new to me. I’m no professional but I do have a few (amateur) photoshoots and theater productions under my belt and would love to teach others what I know about makeup. Lastly, I want to discuss life topics. Not everyone is into the fashion and makeup scene but you’d be hard pressed to find someone who’s never experienced anxiety or depression. I want to talk about deeper subjects and my daily life.

Truly, this blog has many purposes. My goal to connect to likeminded people, to show others how to feel beautiful inside and out, and to keep a record of my thoughts and ideas. It’s for me as much as it is for you.

It’s going to be an adventure!
